The Bernie’s Best Story
The company began with a practical problem. Jim and Christie Finnigan were unable to find a digestive supplement that met the needs of their dog Bernie. Existing solutions often required multiple products, inconsistent dosing, and complicated feeding routines. That frustration led them to develop a more comprehensive approach to digestive health.
Working with veterinary science researchers, formulation specialists, and ingredient experts, they developed Bernie’s Perfect Poop™, a digestive health supplement that combined multiple categories of digestive support into a single product. Following its success, the company expanded into additional wellness categories including dental health, mobility, joint support, and omega supplementation.
The company remains family-owned and continues to build products around the same standard: creating products they would confidently give to their own dogs.

Jim Finnigan
CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jim Finnigan co-founded Bernie’s Best alongside his wife, Christie, after searching for better health solutions for their Bernese Mountain Dog, Bernie. What began as a personal effort to address digestive health challenges evolved into a growing pet wellness company focused on science-based supplements and functional treats.
Jim remains actively involved in product development and company strategy, with an emphasis on research-backed formulations, product quality, and long-term canine wellness. Bernie’s Best continues to reflect the founders’ philosophy of creating products they would use for their own dogs first.
Christie Finnigan
CO-FOUNDER
Christie Finnigan co-founded Bernie’s Best and helped shape the company’s customer-centered approach to pet health. Inspired by Bernie’s health journey, she has played a key role in building a brand focused on practical wellness solutions, ingredient transparency, and helping pet parents make informed decisions about their dogs’ health.
